The Seoul Metropolitan Government and the Seoul Tourism Foundation have appointed Jennie, a global K-pop artist, as the honorary ambassador for Seoul tourism in 2025.
Jennie, who boasts worldwide recognition, has been influential in various fields such as music, fashion, and lifestyle. She has also shown a deep affection for Seoul, mentioning, Seoul is a city of inspiration for me and Seoul’s sensibility is my style. This campaign is expected to perfectly blend the sophisticated and stylish image of Seoul with Jennie’s charm.
The campaign, with the message Absolutely in Seoul, features a visually stunning video that captures the endless stories unfolding in Seoul. The first released video, DALTOKKI, is structured like a short film, maximizing immersion with a storytelling approach as Jennie explores various locations in Seoul, including Gyeongbokgung Palace, Nodeul Island, and Seongsu-dong.
The second video, SEOUL CITY, will utilize the song Seoul City from Jennie’s first solo full album, Ruby, to showcase the special synergy between Jennie and Seoul. In the video, Jennie appears wearing a traditional Korean craft technique, Duseok-jang-decorated dress, which modernly interprets Korean beauty, further promoting Korean culture.
The campaign content will be released sequentially worldwide through the Visit Seoul YouTube and SNS channels, starting with a teaser on July 31st (Thursday). Along with the campaign videos, various online events will be held, such as recommending places to visit in Seoul through comments. In particular, a digital goods random drop event is planned, allowing fans to own posters featuring Jennie and Seoul, which is expected to attract global fans’ enthusiastic interest.
This Seoul tourism promotional video will be broadcast through influential outdoor media in major cities overseas, such as the United States and Australia. Simultaneously, the campaign will be exposed worldwide through global major TV channels, including NBC Universal, in the United States, Europe, and Asia, to enhance promotional effects. Gil Ki-yeon, CEO of the Seoul Tourism Foundation, stated, Through this collaboration with Jennie, we will promote the diverse charms of Seoul to the world and contribute to surpassing 30 million foreign tourists.
