Half of me thinks that YG continuously giving us the bare minimum created a situation where blinks are just happy to get anything and they 100% take advantage of us and the other half of me is so desperate to get any sort of blackpink content that I happily eat up the crumbs they give us like the kid in Oliver Twist. Kind of a weird catch-22.

It would have been better if they had done their own tours instead of the group. They haven’t released any new music, and I highly doubt they will drop an album in the next two weeks. I’m going to guess they were already contracted for this tour.

I think it’s funny that size of discography is an aspect of discussion in relation to the tour when many Kpop groups are still doing covers to fill out their concert setlists and Blackpink have done a 66 show stadium tour and two Coachella appearances entirely consisting of their own original songs, a large number of them being smash hits. People have to stop letting antis drive the conversation and frame this false perspective of what other artists have achieved vs. Blackpink.
I recently saw one of Jennie’s first vids on her YouTube channel and she said she was carrying an 🧿 claw clip because of the solo (live) shout out she gives to blinks.
Does this mean she’s not superstitious like I’ve been thinking, and she wears items or jewellery with 🧿 as a message to fans?? 🤔
I thought it was interesting that she uses crystals to ground herself but isn’t into zodiac signs 😂😂 She also wore 🧿necklace on the like Jennie mv, which was full of symbolisms.
Honestly it baffles me how stupid and brainless blinks are, to me the article literally gaves away that the release is on friday july 4th, they are “debuting it” as in “first live performance” and they will share details of the release “later” aka next week or this week.

Anyone else not really freaking out over the recent developments? Like, I understand having concerns or being unsatisfied about how things are running regarding the comeback and tour (hell, I agree with some of it) but the freakout is still… unnecessary for a lack of a better term?
All this discourse over things that we have no control or insight over makes all this restlessness a bit unproductive and concerning IMO. Again, I understand having expectations and feelings of unease and disappointment with the news (and lack thereof). It’s a bit hard to express succinctly since it’s such a gray zone for “expectations” but as far as I’m concerned, my control was whether or not to buy tickets.
Like everyone else, I had limited information about this world tour. So, this is a matter of rational (logic) and emotional (fan) considerations to make. I’ve spent a lot of money before, so I’d like to think I had numerous reasons and invested expectations for an enjoyable experience then and now. I’ve had such experiences with each concert which I did attend so this is why I ultimately did acquire tickets.
How you make this decision is up to you. Again, I’m not saying people can’t feel disappointment or express it. I just question how people are coping with this and the emerging attitudes and narratives that forms from an otherwise emotional reaction.
Outside of this, I’m over the rest of the rollercoaster ride since what’s the alternative? Let the discourse impact my potential enjoyment? What if all these concerns prove to be unfounded and are just due to typical YG ineptitude and routine online naysayers? All that turmoil amd stress for what should’ve been an exciting time?

everyone is being insufferable about the upcoming tour and i know the hate train is ready to be launched harder than for born pink. and the thing is blackpink could still be phenomenal on stage and the narrative people want will still circulate based on 10 seconds fancams. we have people calling born pink tour “a mess” when it’s the highest-grossing tour by a girl group globally. narrative warfare sounds extreme, but it’s the perfect phrase for what’s going on : people are writing the narrative about the tour in advance, and even the reality will not stop the narrative from spreading (e.g how people acted like lisa’s and jennie’s coachella performances were terrible when they literally weren’t).

Forbes, (Jeff Benjamin) has had yg confirm that the single will be revealed for the first time on the 5th. It’s also stated that it’s this more likely that the mv will actually be released on Friday, the 11th.

Apparently, a protest truck is being sent to YGE tomorrow at 9 am KST for 8 hours. I guess a lot of Blinks are frustrated with YGE. It is what it is. Hopefully, YGE gives the pinks the support and promotions they truly deserve.
Oof… even though I’m frustrated, I will try to remain patient and see what this upcoming era has to offer. Then I can decide if I’m satisfied with what the group brings to the table or not. Okay, hear me out. This is just my opinion. I’m the type of person who falls in love with an artist through their music, the emotions it brings, and their vocals. I don’t become a fan just because of visuals, or blindly idolize someone without substance.
So when someone says, “I don’t care if they don’t make a comeback, I’ll still go to the concert because I love them so much,” I mean, sure. I respect that. If you love them, then love them your way. But for me, I’m here because I want the music. I need the music. I want more of what they’ve already shown us, especially through their solo albums. During that time, I was genuinely happy,, getting to know their individual styles and hearing the diversity in their voices. It felt real.
As a group, I crave that same magic. But now, honestly, I’m slowly losing interest. The little information we’re given doesn’t feel like anything meaningful anymore. So at this point, I’m just sitting back and watching. Maybe we’ll get a full album. Or maybe it’ll be just one song. Or maybe another so called “album” with only 8 tracks again.
And if the concert ends up just using their old group songs plus tracks from their solo albums,, yeah, that kinda sucks. They all worked hard to create solo music, and now it’s just being repackaged into a group concert organized by YG? It really feels like the company is using their individual efforts to keep the show going without giving fans anything new. And honestly, that’s unfair, to both the members and the fans.
It’s kind of funny seeing people love that kpop demon’s soundtrack (specifically the Teddy songs) when they’re made by blackpink’s team….while saying they think blackpink songs are bad and terribly produced
